The Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has taken strict action against 142 students caught cheating in this year’s exams. These students will face a hearing on Sep 13 to determine their final penalties, which could range from level 1 to level 7. The most severe punishment, level 7, includes canceling thesis or project work and imposing a three-year exam ban. The university has already punished students with level 1 to level 4 penalties. After the hearing, the students will be informed of their punishments, which may be reduced if the ethics committee deems it necessary.
