After the Ganesh idol immersions in Hyderabad, there was heavy traffic congestion in various parts of the city, particularly around the lakes. Long queues formed at immersion sites, with some extending for over a kilometre. The situation was worsened as residents returned to the city after the festivals. Commuters, like software engineer Hemantha Nageshwar Rao, found themselves stuck in traffic for hours, with many expressing frustration at the sudden influx of vehicles. Some people, such as tech professional Shruti Reddy, opted to walk to their destinations to avoid the gridlock. Traffic cops acknowledged that diversions for the immersion processions contributed to the congestion, coinciding with the return of many holidaymakers.
