GNB Flyover may land at Khao Gali or Railway Station Roundabout

The iconic Dighalipukhuri in Guwahati is being protected as the Public Works Department considers landing the under-construction GNB Road flyover at alternative locations to avoid harming century-old trees. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Department to come up with a plan that ensures the flyover ends on GNB Road or another road without cutting down heritage trees. Despite the Chief Minister’s request for time to explore alternatives, protesters at the site continued their demonstration. The government is committed to protecting the city’s greenery, heritage, and environment.
