GMCH registers 31 road accident cases in 24 hours



During the Diwali festivities, Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) saw a total of 31 road traffic accident cases within 24 hours, with 27 cases reported in Kamrup (Metro). The age distribution of the patients ranged from 0-10 years to above 40 years. Nine patients required hospitalization, while one was brought in dead. Additionally, four burn cases related to Diwali and five cases of physical assault were also reported. A tragic accident on GS Road at Khanapara resulted in the death of two youths, with another sustaining minor injuries. The accident occurred when their vehicle collided with another vehicle before crashing into a foot overbridge.
