In Mumbai, the city will be adorned with beautiful Ganesh idols during the 10-day festival from Sept 7-17. Mandals across various areas have engaged skilled artisans to create unique idols and elaborate mandaps. From traditional idols resembling Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva to modern interpretations, each mandal is showcasing their creativity. The Khetwadi area is famous for housing some of the tallest idols in the city, including a 35-ft tall sculpture of Ganpati as Lord Krishna. Other mandals in different areas have also put in effort to create visually stunning idols, with themes ranging from historical events to mythological figures. The festival is a time of celebration and community involvement, with various mandals engaging in social work and organizing events to bring people together.
