FSSAI is now more pro-active, industry-centred with fast responses: Nestle

Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestle India, has noted a significant shift in the approach of FSSAI towards the food industry in the past decade, becoming more proactive and industry-centered. The credibility of testing processes has improved with the establishment of NABL-accredited laboratories. The Maggi crisis in 2015 brought FSSAI into the spotlight, leading to improvements in regulations and standards. Nestle India relaunched Maggi successfully and remains a dominant player in the instant noodles market. Despite some controversies, Nestle maintains a respectful relationship with FSSAI. The company has faced and overcome challenges, demonstrating resilience in the Indian market.
