Fort wall collapse kills seven of a family in Madhya Pradesh’s Datia



Rescue operations are underway in the Khalka Pura area of Datia, Madhya Pradesh after a wall collapsed due to heavy rainfall, resulting in the tragic deaths of seven people and injuring two others. The incident occurred at the historic Rajgarh Fort when a portion of the wall collapsed on two houses early in the morning. Local authorities, including the SDERF and police, responded to the scene to rescue the trapped individuals. The challenging rescue operation was hindered by narrow lanes and old structures in the area. The Chief Minister has expressed condolences and announced financial assistance for the affected families. The State government is taking steps to assess and demolish at-risk buildings to prevent future tragedies.
