Former DU professor GN Saibaba, cleared of Maoist links, passes away at 57

Former Delhi University professor G N Saibaba passed away at the age of 57 due to post-operative complications following gallbladder surgery. He was receiving treatment at a hospital in Hyderabad and suffered a heart attack, leading to his death. Saibaba was acquitted in March after being arrested in 2014 for alleged Maoist links. He was wheelchair-bound due to a physical disability and had been in jail since his arrest. He was accused of arranging meetings with banned organizations. Saibaba was a professor at Delhi University before his arrest.
