The foreign graduates wing of the Tamil Nadu Medical Students Association is urging the government to lower the fee for the eligibility certificate required for participation in counselling for PG degree and diploma programmes. Candidates with MBBS/PG diplomas from Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University must apply for this certificate, which involves verification of various documents. The current fee structure is seen as unfair, with different fees for different types of candidates. Additionally, the certificate is only valid for a year, adding to the burden on foreign graduates who are already required to clear various exams before beginning practice.
