Five workers die due to asphyxiation while cleaning tank at agrotech firm in Gujarat | Ahmedabad News



Five workers in their 30s tragically died from asphyxiation while cleaning a sludge tank at an agrotech company in Gujarat’s Kutch district. The incident happened in the early hours of Wednesday when the workers were cleaning the effluent treatment plant. One worker fell unconscious while removing sludge, prompting two others to rush in to help, but they too lost consciousness. Two more workers entered the tank and also succumbed to the toxic fumes. The police have registered a case of accidental death and are investigating the incident at ‘Emami Agrotech’, a company that produces edible oil and biodiesel.
