The DSMD squad of anti-naxal forces in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra used metal detectors to scan the road and encountered five Naxalites who were killed in a gunfight with security forces. The C-60 combat unit of Gadchiroli police played a key role in the operation, which took place in a forest in Bhamragadh taluka. The incident occurred just before the Assembly polls, with the Naxalites planning an attack. The security forces, including C-60 commandos and CRPF squads, launched an operation and successfully retaliated against the Naxalites, resulting in the death of five Maoists.
