In Hyderabad, there is a growing trend of skilled workers who are proficient in tampering with premium liquor bottles by mixing them with cheaper liquor. They are able to remove caps, fill the bottles with cheaper alcohol, and then reseal them seamlessly, making it difficult to detect any tampering. These workers earn around Rs 500 per bottle they handle, particularly during the festive season. This practice is common in hotels and restaurants, especially during events like Dasara and Deepavali. Authorities rely on a mobile app to detect this brand mixing, which alerts them if a bottle does not originate from the designated depot.
