FedEx Frauds: After Fedex Frauds, Cyber Thugs Use India Post As Bait To Swindle People | Hyderabad News

Cyber criminals are now using India Post as a new tactic to scam unsuspecting individuals following the FedEx courier scam. While only a few cases have been reported so far, cyber experts are concerned that the numbers may increase given the history of similar frauds. In 2023, over 89,000 cyber crime complaints were received in Telangana, with FedEx courier scams being one of the top five methods used to defraud people. These scams often target retired employees and housewives. In a recent case, a 75-year-old retired government employee was duped of over 23 lakh after receiving a call from a fake India Post official. The victim was coerced into depositing money into various accounts under false pretenses. It is important to be cautious and report any suspicious activity to the authorities to prevent falling victim to such scams.
