Favourable Winds Help Delhi Breathe Easy, AQI Levels Improve To ‘Poor’ Category

Favorable winds have helped improve Delhi’s air quality from “very poor” to “poor” over the last two days. Despite this improvement, areas like Anand Vihar, Jahangirpuri, Mundka, Wazirpur, Vivek Vihar, and Sonia Vihar still have very poor air quality. The air quality index (AQI) recorded at 4 pm on Saturday was 255, down from 270 the day before. The main pollutants in Delhi are PM10 and O3, with the transport sector being the biggest contributor to pollution. Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai emphasized the urgent need to address air pollution in the region, especially with the post-Diwali period approaching. The weather department has forecast clear skies and stable conditions for the upcoming week.
