Ex-minister used Valmiki corpn money to fund Cong campaign in Telangana: ED

A chargesheet filed by the Enforcement Directorate in Bengaluru reveals that around Rs 20 crore in cash bundles were used to purchase liquor during the Lok Sabha elections in Telangana. The chargesheet, containing statements from 15 witnesses and running into 5,114 pages, implicates former Congress minister B Nagendra, his personal assistant Vijay Kumar Gowda, and others in a multi-crore scam at the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Limited. The chargesheet alleges that Nagendra conspired to misuse funds, destroy evidence, and make large cash deposits without explanation. The scam was exposed after an official involved in auditing and coordinating with a bank died by suicide, leaving behind a detailed suicide note outlining the fraud.
