Industries Minister M.B. Patil clarified that 1,200 acres of land designated as waqf property in Vijayapura district was a mistake in the gazette. Only 11 acres are actually waqf property, with the rest belonging to farmers. The confusion arose from incorrect documentation and the mistake was acknowledged and corrected. Patil assured that no farmer-owned land would be taken as waqf property and urged against politicizing the issue. He will convene another meeting with officials to address the matter.
