EC notice to AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal on Yamuna poisoning claims, seeks ‘proof’ by 8 pm today



In response to Arvind Kejriwal’s claim that Haryana is poisoning the Yamuna river, the Election Commission has asked for evidence of the chemicals used and the alleged prevention by Delhi Jal Board engineers. The EC reminded Kejriwal of potential legal consequences for spreading misinformation that could harm national integration and public harmony. Both the BJP and Congress have also raised concerns about these allegations. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi has expressed worries about rising ammonia levels in the water supplied by Haryana. The EC is awaiting a factual report from the Haryana government on the issue.
