A former madrasa teacher in Kasaragod was acquitted of sexually abusing and impregnating his minor daughter despite DNA evidence confirming his paternity. The girl was also assaulted by seven others, including her father and a juvenile. The prosecution faced challenges with witnesses turning hostile and procedural lapses in handling DNA evidence. The father and mother were acquitted due to these issues, but the father remains in prison for previous sexual assault cases. The doctors involved were also acquitted due to lack of evidence. Despite the acquittal, the father will serve time for previous convictions.
