Karnataka deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar has directed all companies and educational institutions in the state to hoist the Karnataka flag on November 1, in celebration of Karnataka Rajyotsava. He emphasized the importance of fostering a sense of local pride and celebrating Kannada language and culture, especially in a city like Bengaluru where nearly half the population is from outside the state. Shivakumar urged institutions to prominently display the Karnataka flag to honor the significance of the day.
