A lifeguard named Mithu Singh has been denied discharge in the murder case of medical student Swadichcha Sane by a Mumbai sessions court. The court found specific material with the prosecution to proceed against Singh, including evidence of him being seen with the victim before her disappearance. Despite the lack of direct evidence, the judge noted suspicious behavior by Singh and the possibility of him causing the victim’s disappearance. The judge emphasized that finding the victim’s body was not necessary for trial, and there was enough grounds to continue the case. The prosecution alleges that Sane was murdered at Bandra Bandstand after refusing to have sex with Singh, who either pushed her or she fell on rocks fatally. The victim’s body has not been found yet.
