This is a disturbing story about a male counsellor named Sathya Prakash who was arrested for sexually harassing girls at a government-run home for survivors of sexual offences in Tamil Nadu. Despite rules stating that only female staff should be appointed at facilities housing girls, Prakash had been working there since 2021. Many girls had complained about him, but their concerns were ignored until pressure from the child welfare committee led to a police complaint. It is important that those responsible for allowing this abuse to happen are held accountable and that male employees are removed from such homes to prevent further incidents.
