The Congress party is ramping up its campaign in Assam’s Behali constituency ahead of the November 13 by-poll. Prominent leaders including Debabrata Saikia, Rakibul Hussain, and Gaurav Gogoi have joined forces to rally voters and criticize the BJP-led state government. Gogoi, in particular, slammed Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma for focusing excessively on constructing flyovers, which he claimed only benefit a select few contractors close to the government. Saikia expressed confidence in Congress’s chances in the upcoming election, predicting they could challenge the BJP in four out of the five constituencies. The party is hopeful that with people’s support, they can make a strong impact in the by-polls.
