Bengaluru residents recently welcomed Goddess Durga as Durga Puja celebrations began in the city. This year’s festivities included a mix of traditional themes, modern elements, social messages, and celebrations of national achievements. The East Bengaluru Cultural Association’s celebrations focused on promoting social harmony and respect for women, especially in light of recent tragedies. The Begur Bengali Socio-Cultural Trust highlighted India’s sporting achievements, while the North Bangalore Cultural Samithi showcased the grandeur of India’s heritage. The Assam Society of Bangalore highlighted Karnataka’s heritage and Assamese traditions, and the Green Glen Layout Cultural Association paid tribute to indigenous art and culture with their ‘Prantik’ theme.
