Chhath Puja, a four-day festival also known as Surya Shashti, is being celebrated this year from November 5 to November 8. This festival is dedicated to the Sun God, Surya Dev, with devotees performing rituals and a 36-hour fast to seek blessings for their families. The third day of the festival, known as Sandhya Arghya, involves offering prayers to the setting sun. Devotees gather at river banks, offer fruits and traditional dumplings in bamboo baskets, and seek blessings from the Sun God and Chhathi Maiya for the well-being of their loved ones. The festival culminates with Usha Arghya on the last day, symbolizing gratitude for life and seeking blessings for fertility and prosperity.
