The chief minister of Chennai, M K Stalin, announced compensation of 5 lakh for each of the five families who lost loved ones due to heat-related ailments during an Indian Air Force airshow. He expressed condolences for the tragic loss and acknowledged the lack of proper arrangements for such a large event. Health minister Ma Subramanian mentioned that the primary cause of the deaths was the lack of drinking water facilities and proper medical arrangements. Despite warnings from the IAF and efforts from the state department, the event saw a large number of people getting admitted to hospitals. Measures will be taken to ensure better organization of future events to prevent such incidents.
