Caretaker turned killer arrested after 8-month chase

After an extensive eight-month pursuit, the Domalguda police and Commissioner’s Task Force successfully apprehended a man for the murder of an elderly woman in her home. The suspect, Mahesh Kumar Mukhiya, originally from Bihar, had been working as a caretaker for the victim’s mother. On January 31, Mukhiya and an accomplice tied up the woman, stole valuables, and left her to suffocate, resulting in her death. Despite fleeing the scene, Mukhiya was eventually captured with the help of CCTV footage and human intelligence. Efforts are ongoing to locate his partner in the crime.
