Cabinet approves Rs 6,798 crore projects to boost connectivity in 5 yrs



The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved two railway projects with a total estimated cost of Rs.6,798 crore. The projects include doubling of a section in Bihar and construction of a new line in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. These projects will enhance connectivity, strengthen economic growth, and increase the existing railway network by 313 kms. They will provide connectivity to villages and populations, improve transportation of commodities, and reduce CO2 emissions. The projects are part of the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan for multi-modal connectivity, aiming to provide seamless movement of people, goods, and services.
