The Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah, inaugurated the first phase of the Yettinahole Integrated Drinking Water Project in Hebbanahalli. This project aims to provide drinking water to seven drought-prone districts in South Interior Karnataka by harnessing water from western flowing rivulets. Despite controversies surrounding water availability, the CM is determined to complete the project and ensure that all the people in Kolar and Chikkaballapur receive potable water. The water resources minister, DK Shivakumar, did not respond to opposition leaders’ remarks. The completion of phase 1 marks progress towards providing much-needed water to the region.
