He praised Yechury as a brilliant Marxist ideologue, with a vast knowledge of Indian history, society, and politics. Yechury’s ability to explain complex Marxist principles in a simple and understandable way made him popular among students and youth. Vijayan also highlighted Yechury’s dedication to addressing issues affecting the marginalized and poor during his time as a Rajya Sabha member. He considered it a privilege to have worked with Yechury in the CPM central committee and politburo.
