The Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Project (BMRP) in Odisha’s capital is set for completion by December 2027. This initiative aims to modernize urban transport, reduce traffic congestion, and improve connectivity in Bhubaneswar. The metro system will operate on elevated tracks, with trains running every 10 minutes to accommodate commuters. Soil testing is currently underway to ensure the safety and stability of the tracks, with plans for a casting yard and project depot in progress. Road expansion work is also ongoing to ease congestion during construction. Once completed, the BMRP will provide reliable, high-frequency metro services, making Bhubaneswar a more commuter-friendly and well-connected city.
