The Kerala Cabinet has recommended to the Governor to remit the sentence of Sherin, the main accused in the Bhaskara Karanavar murder case. Sherin had been serving a life sentence for murdering her father-in-law in 2009 and has spent 14 years in prison. The decision was based on the recommendation of the advisory committee of the Kannur Womenās Prison and Correctional Home, as well as the opinion of the Law department. Sherin, along with three accomplices, was convicted for the murder, which was motivated by Karanavar’s decision to cancel a property will that named Sherin as a beneficiary.
