The Guinness World Records adjudicator confirmed that two new records were set in Ayodhya during the Deepotsav event – most people performing ‘aarti’ simultaneously and the largest display of oil lamps. Drones were used to count over 25 lakh diyas lit on 55 ghats along the Saryu river. The previous record for the largest display of oil lamps was surpassed. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath congratulated Ayodhya and the nation on this achievement. The event has grown in scale over the years, with a record number of diyas lit this year symbolizing the prosperity of the state under the current government.
