In 2019, the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation approved the replacement of an old duct line with a new one in the Vasna area. However, due to vibrations affecting nearby old buildings, only 30% of the work was completed before being halted due to protests from local councillors and residents. Five years later, the standing committee has approved a proposal to finish the remaining 220 meters of duct line at a cost of Rs 3.74 crore using new technology. The initial project cost Rs 25.40 crore, with Rs 22 crore already spent on replacing 660 meters of the duct line. The approved proposal aims to address the concerns and complete the project effectively.
