AIIMS: AIIMS Implements Advanced Security with Facial Recognition Technology | Delhi News

AIIMS in New Delhi has launched a pilot project in the Mother & Child Block to enhance security and regulate visiting hours in sensitive areas like the operating theatre and ICU. The initiative includes a Facial Recognition-Based Access Control System and a Visitor Management System. A dedicated task force is overseeing the procurement and implementation of the VMS, with plans for it to be operational by March 31, 2025. Hospital officials are concerned about the risks of an open admission policy leading to infections and unauthorized access. The director of AIIMS believes the facial recognition software can help prevent unauthorized access. A performance audit will be conducted after three months to assess the system’s effectiveness.
