Former AIADMK minister D Jayakumar criticized the DMK government for not being prepared for rainfall, which led to water stagnation in Chennai and suburbs after just a small amount of rain. He pointed out that even areas represented by the chief minister and deputy chief minister experienced knee-deep water. Jayakumar highlighted issues with stormwater drains and sewage mixing, questioning the government’s ability to handle a cyclone. He also raised concerns about inconsistent figures regarding drain work completion and lack of action on recommendations. Jayakumar alleged a possible political alliance between the DMK and BJP following the chief minister’s visit to Delhi.
