AAP MLA Rajendra Pal Gautam joins Congress, accuses ruling party of ignoring Dalit and minority rights | Delhi News

Rajendra Pal Gautam, a former Delhi social welfare minister and Seemapuri MLA, resigned from AAP citing his disagreement with the party’s alignment with BJP ideology and neglect of minority and Dalit rights. In his letter to CM Arvind Kejriwal, Gautam expressed his commitment to social justice as a follower of Baba Saheb Ambedkar, stating that he could not achieve this goal while remaining in AAP. He praised the Kejriwal government’s efforts to improve schools and the education system in Delhi but felt he had to leave the party. Interestingly, Gautam is the second Dalit MLA and minister to resign from AAP, following Raaj Kumar Anand, who also left the party earlier in the year citing corruption within the party.
