CM Atishi criticized the BJP for firing bus marshals and Civil Defence Volunteers, promising to re-employ them to combat pollution in Delhi. The AAP government announced plans to deploy these workers in various roles, including enforcing pollution restrictions, monitoring hotspots, and participating in public awareness campaigns. Atishi emphasized the importance of these workers in successful initiatives like Odd-Even and ‘Red Light On, Gaadi Off’. She warned of upcoming challenges due to stubble burning, firecrackers, and vehicle emissions, urging immediate action to address the worsening air quality in Delhi. Despite a firecracker ban, pollution levels are expected to remain high in the coming days.
