A five-year-old cow in Mumbai that lost its leg in an accident last year is now adjusting to a prosthetic limb at Bai Sakarbai Dinshaw Petit Hospital for Animals. The cow is slowly getting used to the new artificial leg and showing signs of acceptance. Dr. Mayur Dangar, the manager of the hospital, said that the prosthetic was gradually introduced to the cow for a few hours a day until she gets comfortable with it. Dr. Dangar mentioned that acceptance of a new limb in large animals like cows is rare, and the hospital will continue to monitor the cow’s progress before using the prosthetic for longer periods.
