An official from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in Bengaluru mentioned that the Bengaluru-Chennai Expressway’s progress was previously slowed due to the need to relocate a temple near Hoskote at Jinnagara Cross. However, with the temple now relocated, construction is moving swiftly on the remaining 400-meter section. The expressway, costing Rs 17,900 crore, is the first greenfield project in South India and is expected to reduce travel time between Bengaluru and Chennai to less than three hours. Despite delays in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, the motorway is set to fully open next year, with interim travel possible between Bengaluru, Malur, and Bangarpet.
