He had ordered a kitchen article worth Rs 625 online, but when it didn’t arrive, he contacted customer care and was tricked into downloading an app that led to his bank account being hacked. The man reported the incident to the Cybercrime helpline and a complaint was filed with the police. This serves as a reminder to be cautious when sharing personal information online and to verify the authenticity of customer care numbers before contacting them.
