Prosecutors in Ohio have charged two police officers with reckless homicide in the death of Frank Tyson, a 53-year-old man who was handcuffed and left face down on the floor of a social club in Canton. The officers, Beau Schoenegge and Camden Burch, were indicted by a grand jury after body camera footage showed Tyson saying he couldn’t breathe. The county coroner ruled Tyson’s death a homicide, citing a heart condition and intoxication as contributing factors. The officers have been placed on paid administrative leave, and the NAACP has praised the charges as a step towards transparency and accountability.
