16 girls complain of sexual harassment, torture in Eluru ashram

Officials visited Swamy Dayananda Saraswathi Ashram in Eluru to investigate allegations of sexual harassment and misconduct by the ashram administrator towards 16 girls staying there. The girls reported that the administrator, along with his wife and niece, had abused and assaulted them. The police and Women Development and Child Welfare Department are conducting a thorough investigation, including medical examinations and counseling for the victims. The ashram has been closed and the girls have been handed over to their parents. Authorities are verifying records and attendance registers to gather evidence for the case.
