Authorities seized a large quantity of mephedrone (MD) drug valued at ₹1,814 crore and its raw materials from a factory in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a raid and arrested two individuals. The factory had the capacity to manufacture 25 kg of MD drug per day. The arrested individuals had conspired to manufacture and sell MD for financial gain. Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, praised the effort of law enforcement agencies in combating drug-trafficking. The seized contraband and materials used for manufacturing MD were valued at ₹1,814 crore.
