The toll rates for the 165-kilometer stretch between Greater Noida and Agra are set to increase by up to 12 percent starting October 1. This decision was made during a board meeting of the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) to support the toll operator managed by the Suraksha Group. The new rates will impact different types of vehicles, with increases ranging from Rs 1.50 to Rs 18.35 per kilometer. The hike is necessary to help the toll operator cover operational losses and fulfill commitments to revive stalled Jaypee apartments. The board has asked for traffic forecasts and vehicle data to better understand toll collections on the expressway.
