Union Minister Nitin Gadkari explained that toll taxes are collected over time to cover various government expenses incurred before and after the toll collection process begins. He used the example of purchasing a car or house on loan to illustrate this point. He also addressed complaints of excessive toll collection on the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, stating that there were numerous challenges in building the road, including contractor issues and court cases. Gadkari highlighted that India is the fifth largest economy in the world and aims to become the third largest. In the first 100 days of the third term of the Modi government, eight road projects worth Rs 51,000 crores were approved, with a goal of completing projects worth Rs 3 lakh crores by March.
