Volvo is updating infotainment systems for models produced in 2020 or later, including the facelifted XC90, with a redesigned home screen and easier access to frequently used apps. The new software aims to enhance user experience and make key functions more similar to Volvo’s EV range. The update includes a new nav bar at the bottom of the screen for quick access to recently used apps and exterior cameras. Approximately 2.5 million Volvo owners will receive the software update at no cost via over-the-air delivery starting next year. The update will be compatible with various Volvo models running on the Android operating system. Erik Severinson, Chief of product and strategy at Volvo Cars, highlighted the importance of the software in improving customer experience and stated that the company will continue to refine it through over-the-air updates to meet evolving customer needs.
