Tesla has unveiled two driverless robotaxi models, the Cybercab and Robovan, set to enter production in 2026. CEO Elon Musk plans to launch a public ridesharing service using these autonomous Tesla vehicles. The Cybercab is a fully-driverless cab priced under $30,000 and features a unique design similar to the Cybertruck. It will operate on inductive charging and rely on cameras and AI for Full Self-Driving. The Robovan, capable of carrying up to 20 passengers, was also showcased but details about it are limited. Musk’s ambitious timeline for autonomous vehicles has faced delays in the past, raising concerns among investors. Tesla will need to address regulatory hurdles and ensure the reliability of its FSD technology for a successful driverless future.
