Suzuki Motors’ Indian unit, Maruti Suzuki, has announced a collaboration with Toyota Motors to supply its first-ever electric vehicle. The electric SUV, set to be produced in India starting in spring 2025, was developed in partnership with Daihatsu Motors. This move is part of Toyota’s plan to launch 10 battery-powered vehicles by 2026. The SUV will feature a 60-kilowatt-hour battery pack, but its range has not been disclosed. Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker, plans to add a production line for EVs at its Gujarat plant. The EV will be supplied globally, including to Toyota and European markets.
