Pune is set to become a top urban hub with expanded connectivity, as Prime Minister Modi is set to inaugurate the new underground Metro and lay the foundation for elevated routes on September 26. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced this during a recent visit to Pune, where various projects were inaugurated for the district. The new Metro corridor and upcoming expansions are expected to make Pune one of the best urban centers in the near future. Additionally, there is a proposal to name the Pune airport after Sant Tukaram Maharaj, which will be followed up by Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol and Nitin Gadkari.
