Night Operations at Indore Airport To Be Closed for a Year. Know Why

The Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Indore is undergoing a major repair project that will impact night flights for a year starting from February 2025. The Airport Authority has allocated Rs 25.27 crore for the resurfacing of the runway, which is in deteriorating condition due to continuous flight operations. The project involves completely removing and replacing the existing asphalt layer with a new one. The work will be done at night, between midnight and 6 am, causing disruption to late-night and early-morning flights. Airlines will need to reschedule their services during this period. Despite the inconvenience, this repair work is necessary to ensure the safety of passengers and maintain the airport’s infrastructure.
